ICC preparing for second "Encounter Worship"
Last Saturday, the Wads Annex was filled with singing and other forms of worship, as ICC sponsored “Encounter Worship,” the first of two worship events reaching out to all on campus.
“I have very high expectations that God is/will/and already has used this in people’s lives,” said Ben Aho in Cross Reference’s online exclusive preview to the first event. “It has been awesome to see Him purposefully set things up, on His own terms, and I can only give Him the glory for it.”
Hillsong (http://www.myspace.com/hillsong), Mac Powell (who formed Christian rock band Third Day) and Starfield (http://www.myspace.com/starfield) were the featured music, performed by local musicians, representing several Christian organizations on campus.
A powerful skit and video clip, along with personal testimonies and opportunities for fellowship, rounded out the worship service.
Michael Ford said, “I thought the Encounter worship was amazing, and well done. I loved the songs that were picked, and the skit. Every time I see that skit, I just can’t help but get emotional about it because it’s such a powerful skit, and it shows so powerfully that Jesus never leaves, and is able to break in and save the day whenever we ask Him to.” The skit will be performed again at the second event, this coming Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the DHH Ballroom, for those who could not make it the first time.
There will be slight variances of the first worship service, but the idea & songs will be much the same. Being an outreach event, all are invited and are encouraged to bring friends.
