Christians throughout the centuries have thought for one reason or another that the end times were near, but Dr. David Jeremiah's book reveals connections between current events and biblical prophecy that cannot be denied. While only God knows the exact time of His return (Matthew 24:36-44), we are told to always be watchful and always be ready for the time of His return. "What in the World is Going On?" offers "ten prophetic clues you cannot afford to ignore."

The first chapter of the book touches on the importance of the nation of Israel. It is fascinating how a country smaller than the state of New Jersey garners international attention on par with only the United States. The reason for this is revealed in the Bible itself when God blesses Israel's allies and curses its enemies. The book delves into deeper implications of Israel and its role in end-times prophecy.

In the following chapters, Dr. Jeremiah delves into the importance of oil, including a revealing story about why the Middle East is the world leader in the production of oil. The book then discusses why there is a connection between the ancient Roman Empire and the modern European Union. After that, Dr. Jeremiah tackles the touchy subject of Islamic terrorism, a legitimate threat to freedom. He uses tactful, well-written arguments to reveal the threat from not only jihad but also fatah, which essentially means conquering nations by asserting power internally through tolerant laws, something clearly evident in the United States, the world's melting pot, which prides itself on tolerance.

Throughout the remainder of the book, Dr. Jeremiah directly presents what the Bible says will happen in the end times and how the world itself is falling directly into the mold necessary for end times events to take place. This includes topics such as the anti-Christ, a one-world currency (the Euro is just one step toward this; think about the value of the dollar), preparation for Armageddon and many other scenarios. One particularly relevant chapter looks at what America's role is in prophecy. There is no direct mention of America in the Bible in terms of playing a large role in end-times events, and the book discusses several potential reasons for this.

Dr. Jeremiah's book could be seen largely as gloom and doom prophecy, but it is anything but. For those who have put their faith in Christ, the end times are exciting. We are that much closer to being with our Lord for eternity! There is nothing more that has to happen for the rapture to take place, as the remainder of prophesied events could happen during the seven-year tribulation leading up to Christ's return. Christians should be looking for the Lord's return (Titus 2:13, Philippians 3:20) and living for the Lord until He returns (2 Peter 3:11, I John 3:2-3).

The Bible is the ultimate source for end-times understanding, but Dr. Jeremiah's book makes incredible connections between the Bible's prophecy and current events.

Interesting video by Dr.

Interesting video by Dr. Baldwin. I wish the video was longer so I could have understood more of where he was going. His statements definitely seem to be supported by history, as well as our current standing in the world. Definitely a global economy for sure... and I'm sure the UN would LOVE to be "God" if we let them :S Never let go of our sovereignty... never!
