Dr. Guliuzza (speaker)

Recently Dr. Guliuzza spoke on Human Reproductive Systems to argue intelligent design in the Rozsa on Saturday, March 21 (You can read an article about this here).

Any thoughts or opinions regarding this event and its content?

I remember hearing about this

I remember hearing about this presentation. Didn't the Dr. Guliuzza essentially say "This is really, really complicated, therefore, god"?

Fantastic hearing that "real science" validates Creation

Often times it seems as though science automatically rules out Creation (and the average Christian does not have the high-level training as many scientists to dispute on the same level), but Dr. Guliuzza showed that many times intelligent design is not just a high probability, it must be the case (and his degrees alone validate his legitimate scientific training). The human reproductive system was fascinating evidence for this. As the article stated and Dr. Guliuzza stated, everything must have worked right the first time. Evolution is dependent on a continuing lineage, which would not exist if the system was not in place at the beginning. In terms of the event itself, I thought the Q&A was quite interesting as well. The skeptics that David Michael mentioned in his opinion article seemed to be searching for truth, and he's right that their questions can provide important insight for Christians, but I don't like when it seems like skeptics are intent on tripping up the speaker and detracting from what the real point actually is. It's important to be open to those who are searching for truth, but it's really difficult to deal with those who are completely closed-minded.

turn the tables
"It's important to be open to those who are searching for truth, but it's really difficult to deal with those who are completely closed-minded."
Turning the tables though, I bet that's also how many others feel about most Christians...completely closed minded and difficult to deal with - food for thought!

"Practicing what you preach"

That's why David Michael's point is so spot on. Christians can say what they want, but if they are not acting in such a way that reflects Christ, saying all the right things in the world means nothing. It's sad that so many Christians come across as stuck up and "holier-than-thou."
