End-times prophecy

Please review the March 26 article about Dr. David Jeremiah's book entitled "What in the World is going on?" The book mentions ten prophetic cues about how events taking place now are setting up the end times. What does anyone else think about this? What do you think America's role is in end-times prophecy (I'm particularly curious about this one!)?

These times are no different

These times are no different then any other before, we just have more media able to cover everything much more rapidly making it appear as if the world is going sour.

These times are quite different

I think that every era is unique, particularly this one. While I understand that people throughout the centuries have thought that Jesus would come back in their lifetime, it's certainly true that the odds grow with each year and each generation. Also, basically the whole world is now populated and foreign relations are tense. Israel being acknowledged as an official nation in 1948 was a HUGE event as far as a biblical timeline is concerned. I could never guarantee when Jesus would return, but if you read Dr. Jeremiah's book, you will certainly see at least how things that are going on right at this moment certainly fit into biblical prophecy, particularly prophecy that approaches Christ's time of return.
