Bible translations

I know there was plenty of discussion on the March 26 poll regarding Bible translations. This is where the discussion should continue. Several felt that the King James Version is the only version that can be trusted, but several people, myself included feel that others can certainly be counted on from at least just a reading standpoint. There were also interesting points made about the Bible codes. Any thoughts on any of that?

Many good translations

I read all of the comments that were posted on the poll about this question. I would have to agree with most of the posters that the KJV is the most historically supported, and therefore assumed to be the most accurate. I personnally use the NKJV for ease of day to day reading. I do own a KJV for serious studying. Most of the modern translations do drift away from what I believe the true meaning is on some occasions, but even with their sortfalls I believe that they all could lead a person to salvation and the christian walk.

Yes, I agree. While the KJV

Yes, I agree. While the KJV is without a doubt the most historically/biblically sound translation, I have never seen a Bible version that would not lead someone to Christ.
